Canadian BDX

speaking of CDNBDX, has anyone tried the 147gr at 132pf? I had some plated stuff in 147gr, but it was a tad hotter at around 138-139pf. I am planning an order and was curious if I should give this a try.

I've got 2500 in the lock up to try. I'll post the results if I'm able to chrony.

your barrel length is almost 5 "? You might get more velocity out of it, but probably not, as Kurt uses a CZ to test his ammo.

I have some 147 from Kurt I will be trying this week at a match. I don't have a chrony, but will let you know how it works.

Did anyone here have a chance to test for fps?

UPDATE: I was much better with the BDX 124 grain at 25 yds than the 147 grain.
Up close 7-10 yards, I shot the 147 grain better.

I am inexperienced, and a lousy shot, but I do have more of Kurt's ammo and will see how I warm up to it.

Got my 2500 a few weeks ago: works perfectly for me. It might just be the USP, but damn is it ever accurate. :)

Just got some the 14tgr with my order of 124gr and .40 major. Heading to the range in the morning to test out my new Edge!

I swear by the stuff. I found it to be far better than "factory" . Consistent tight groups limited only by the shooter and quality of gun. I have used his 9mm in both the 124 and 147 altho I do prefer the 147, but thats just personal preference. Same cudos apply to the 40SW. Very nice stuff indeed. Havnt tried the 45acp but if its as good as the other products, it will be my sole choice unless specialty loads are required. Kurt does nice work.:dancingbanana:
Cheers

too bad he's stopped delivering the bullets themselves in any decent way. as a result a lot of us have switched to different brands, which thankfully are now cheaper than him anyhow. Perhaps if he wasn't so intent on selling reloads, he might actually have kept a few of his other large customers.

did you talk to him about this...?
I would actually pick up the phone if I had any concerns or questions (which I have done in the past). With the amount of "reloads" he is selling to IPSC and PPC shooters, as well as different police services and large range facilities,..... I have heard he is busier than Santa at Christmas. ....everyday!
I have to say that his reloaded ammunition is a better quality than most factory ammunition. (this is a fact from testing and feedback I have collected from others who have use his ammunition) If you notice his website, he specifically mentions IPSC Power Factors as he knows a lot of his customers may be involved in IPSC type shooting sports.

I can not speak for him, but I would assume like any other firearms or ammunition related business, he has to make a profit in order to stay in business.
that being said, I had a delay in getting my product from him, and he emailed me to explain why. Aside from a recent hand injury, he is still hard at it.

Well Slavex, I am sorry I cannot coment on the bullet situation as I am not familiar with the problem. I guess I am just fortunate in the fact that if I need bullets or loaded ammo, he's just 50mi down the road from me. I recognize the fact that others do not have this luxury, but I also believe he is very competitive/reasonable on his shipping of product. Around here, he is the best in value and quality for bullets but I always love to hear about other options.
Cheers:)

Hey Slavex: Tell us about the brands you prefer, shipping, etc. We on the Island are marooned and always on the lookout for options/group buys etc.

Frontier Bullets

Who is selling projectiles? I know Marstar has been out of stock on Frontiers for ages. Anyone have any suggestions?

I asked Higginson's about 9mm's and got this reply:

"We are currently out of all Frontier 9mm bullets, we are expecting another order in within the next 6-8 weeks, hopefully."

Marstar supplies Higgys' and they aren't getting them until the new year.

Just tried out my StI Edge .40 for the first time using Canadian BDX .40 major ammunition. After about 250rds, not one FTF or FTE or any problems. Very accurate, (gun and ammo = good accuracy)..
It felt very easy to fire this gun, trigger is good and broke at just over 3 lbs, and reset was very nice. Only thing I have to do is polish the mags a little so they drop free a little easier (they drop free now, but not as fast as I would like).
The gun was spot on at 25yds. No sight adjustment required.
My only complaint is that I now feel uncomfortable using my HK USP!:p

**Note on the Combat Masters .40 ammunition. The rounds are highly polished, and have a very nice crimp....I have seen other ammunition that have a ruff crimp, which in some cases would allow the round to turtle into the casing. Kurts ammo is the shizzle (very nice)

I used to get Montanna Gold from Custom Reloading Services. Now they can't get anything from Kurt, and neither can anyone else I've talked to. The few times I've tried to get stuff I get the same run around everyone else I know gets, "2 weeks, 2 weeks, 2 weeks. However if you want loaded ammo I have that............."

that sucks, the demand must be more than he can keep up with.

Have you actually tried calling Kurt and talking to him instead of "suppliers"? I know he's been going nuts but best to get the info directly from the right end of the horse. He's an honest guy and would welcome the opportunity to set things right.
Good luck.

talked to him twice. Ever since he got the loading gear, getting components has sucked. But he's always got loaded ammo in the weight you want. I also know I am not the only one who's experienced this. Hence the reason a lot of us don't use his stuff anymore. The last bunch of MG bullets I got came from a US source since Kurt couldn't supply us.
