Try Loyalist Arms. They are in Halifax. Google search the name and that will get you to thier website.
The kits are made in India but it is my experience (I own an Indian built Charleville) that the quality is very acceptable. Loyalist also proof tests there stuff but I am not sure about the kits. I believe you will have to e-mail them to inquire re. kits as they do not seem to be listed. The only thing I seem to have noticed is that most of thier stuff is smoothbore but it is worth checking them out.

may I ask why Canadian made?...are you looking for better quality with a Canadian made kit?? or just easier access/shipping?
I do not know of Canadian made kit...myself, I was looking for better quality so I went for US made kit and was very satisfied, specially with the barrel which are made of real steel and have a bore size, not some seemless pipe with odd bore measurement.
I had good service from Loyalist Arms for a complete musket. They had problem then (2003/4) making fair price in Canadian dollars...I had to have a friend order from the USA so iI could pay in US dolar the right price. Not sure how they adjusted with the dollar at par!?

I was pondering the same questions re. Canadian suppliers. With the value of our dollar and the amount of suppliers in the states it is worth checking it out. Try Track of the Wolf. Thet have a website. Just google search the name.
It is my understanding that it is very simple to import flintlocks but percussion kits may need a go between.

john clark in tottenham makes both kits and full rifles. he also has a website. do a google search for Clark Industries. his rifles are very nice. he makes his own locks aswell, doesent use any of the lyman or locks like that.
he only does Flintlock to my knowlage. ive seen one of his new Lancaster rifles that he has made. its a beutiful rifle, light as a feather.

Thank's guys. I am going for a TOTW fullstock flintlock Hawken. I have seen them and they are good i just thought i would spend my money in Canada if possible. I looked at Clarks sight and price is a bit high and Loyalist stuff is imported . Dan
Great looking one that full stock...I have a TC half stock but wish it was full stock...
Just a tought...are you looking for a musket that would have Canadian significance?...then maybe a North West trade gun, an English or French trade gun or Fusil fin or other sorts...
I imagine you have investigated the level of work required for making a musket from a TOTW kit?...drilling and tapping holes in critical locations...they also offer to do some of the work for a little extra $ like welding the barrel undurlugs and sight...

Hi Jacques: I am looking for a Hawken style or one of the German styled from eastern US with a swamped barrel. I have to sell a gun or two to finance this purchase so it may take a little while to get it together. I appreciate the heads up on the work required i will have them do the breech plug and the underlugs i can do the rest. Too bad i didn't learn more from my father he built guns from scratch. The big question is how much do you want to pay and what sort of quality do you want to purchase? You can buy second hand foreign made guns from $200 on up to extremely high quality new home grown guns selling for $2000 - $5000 depending on details. There is at least one very good maker in BC (Taylor Sapergia) and I am sure a number of others accross the country. Considering that you ordered a Shilo Sharp's recently, I would suggest targeting a gun in the $1500 - $2500 range. I would also suggest looking at some high quality guns so that you can recognize a quality gun when you see one. Our perspectives change with experience.
