Anyone out there familliar with this revolver? I recently aquired one that needs a bit of work and a few parts but I can find nothing on it in any of my books. thanks guy's !

British Bulldog pistols were made in BRITAIN by Webley and a few British gun makers under license from Webley. They were also made by the thousands by hundreds of Belgian gun makers, some of good quality , some not so good but most of the Belgian ones although marked British Bulldog and similar in appearance have very little or no parts interchangeability with each other or Webley made British Bulldogs . The British Bulldog pistol was also made in the U.S. by FOREHAND AND WADSWORTH which is reported to be as good in quality as the Webley and its parts were interchangeable with other Forehand and Wadsworth Bulldogs. Iver Johnson made an AMERICAN BULLDOG but it had a solid frame and not a swing out cylinder. Most Bulldogs were large but short cartridges in calibers .450, .44, but some were.38 and .32. Your CANADIAN BULLDOG could be any make of Bulldog with Canadian Bulldog marked on it on request of whoever was selling it, or it could be a more modern Spanish pistol with this marking. Yours could be anything, the British Bulldog had a particular appearance, so without a picture and also pictures of any proof marks, help is just a guess. What you have asked is like saying "I have a Chev tell me about its history and value." We would all like to help and see your new gun but we need more than just a name.

Not sure how to post a picture of it but the proof marks are as follows. On the passengers side

on the drivers side

There are no serial numbers. The closest picture I could find on the internet made me sure it was a british bulldog "pug".
