I am wanting to get a rifle that has guaranteed sub-Moa accuracy (ideally .5). It doesn’t have to be custom but I’m thinking that is my only option. I am looking for a 300 win mag and it will primarly be used for hunting.

I’ve done some research online but can’t seem to find anything inside Canada.

Any thoughts?

Insite Arms, Alberta.
EM Precision, Alberta.
Alberta Tactical Rifle, Alberta.
Corlanes, British Columbia.
Bob Jury, Jury Barrels, Alberta.

Theres a few that make crazy accurate rifles. I have owned rifles made by both Corlanes and ATRS. Better than 1/2 MOA accuracy. But You also have to be able to shoot a 1/2 MOA group. It took me a few years to get to that point. Spend the cash if You want too. Nothing wrong with having an extremely nice accurate rifle that You can build Your skills on. Just a ton of people want a 1/4-1/2 moa rifle that can shoot better than 2 MOA. If You can do better, buy away and call the Smith’s I listed. You won’t be disappointed.

You'd probably be better off with a factory rifle. Cooper, Kimber, Dakota etc. Lots of options out there that would be better than a "custom"

Another vote for Insite Arms and ATRS, they both should be able to build you the rifle of your dreams. However, depending on your budget there are alot of great options out there. Prophet River and Wanstalls have started importing Gunwerks, which would by my infinite budget don't care kind of hunting rifle (If I never get set up to do my own builds.)

Why the 300 Win Mag? Did you consider a 300 WSM?
Have you considered "guntech"?

Great man to deal with, fast and reasonable prices. Some of his builds are superb and on his website there are examples.
Make a list of everything you want and talk to him.

I'm in my infancy of having a custom rifle built. I ordered the barrel, stock and action and they are in the mail as I type. I usually order all the components myself when I want a custom rifle, I enjoy the journey, equally, it saves on time for the gun maker. I recommend the following gun makers: Dave Henry, Henry Rempel, Insite Arms, Custom Gunworx, EM Precision, Ralf Martini, Rocky Mountain Rifles. There are others, however this is good start. Good luck and enjoy the journey!

With all top end components any good gunsmith should be able to build you a half MOA capable rifle. Good choice on the 300 Win Mag. I have one built on a Borden action, Mcmillan Gamescout, #3 Brux, Holland brake, NF SHV. This gun can do it all. Finished at 10 lbs 2oz. Holds half Moa or better out to 910 yds (far as my property allows me to shoot). H1000, Fed GM 215 M, and 215 Bergers is the perfect combo. Be sure to use a custom reamer made for the 215 or similar bullet. My gun shoots the 215 right at 3000 fps. Very hard combo to beat for targets or big game hunting.

A bone stock Tikka Tactical in 300 wm, with impeccable handloads, in my experience is a 1/2moa rifle.

Best group (5 shot) at 1000 yards was 4.00".

There are others out there.

A scope that holds zero along with afore mentioned handloads and practice at long distances will get you there.

Throwing dollars at it is no guarantee.

There is more guarantee throwing money at a custom, than off the shelf rifle. ALL of my custom rifles (hunting not bench rifles) shot 1/4" three shot groups.......now that's a guarantee!!! Equally, it is built they way a person wants it.

As an F-Open shooter that has put a few rounds down range....why do you need a sub 1/2 MOA rifle to hunt?

Let's say 500 to 600 yards is the ethical limits of hunting.....do you really need to hit that 3 inch circle? Unless you're planning on shooting varmints at that distance but I doubt that with your caliber choice.

Do what you want. All the power to you actually. My opinion is to spend your money on a solid stock rifle like a Kimber if your looking for custom and put LOTS of time and money into developing a load for your rifle and range time.

A great shooter with a stock Savage axis will outshoot the average hunter with anything you put in his hands no matter how custom. I've seen it many times.

If you have the budget, do it. Like a previous poster said, get it throated for the bullet you want shoot. Also, spend almost the same on the optics. Also, set aside several thousand to reload with good components and burn out the first barrel. A good friend of mine died in a car accident today. Live now, not later.

Get a rifle that fits you well and that you like. Get a gunsmith to screw on a Bartlien barrel and I would be very surprised if it wasn't a half inch gun

Emerson: condolences on your friend.
