So I know people have been wondering, are the grips, hammer, rear sight and work done to the special Shadows worth it. Yes, yes it is. I got to play with my new one yesterday at Reliable Guns, and wow, holy crap, the slide and frame fit is amazing as is the barrel and slide fit. Zero slop but smooth as glass (or insert your choice of really smooth). The trigger has a bit of drag to it, but a few hundred rounds will disappear that I'm sure. The grips are pretty cool and I like the maple leaf. The rear sight was a surprise for me, double FO rear and I liked it. Only thing I'll change when I get it is the trigger to an 85, which is what the new ones will be coming with anyhow. The aluminum baseplates could have been done better, but I'll be using my other mags anyhow. Basically it's a plastic 10 round baseplate with an aluminum cap on the end. Hopefully others will have more to report on their experiences with them. The case the gun and 3 mags come in is a real nice touch as are the spare parts (springs, shock buffers spare guide rod).
It will be a week or so before the gun is actually in my house and I can get it to the range but when I'll be putting it through the 2000 round challenge right off the bat. I don't see it having any problems though.
