Canadian Elcan scope holding zero?

Combat sight.

Even if you beat it with a stick it may shift zero. But... 1 or 2 or 3 moa shift on a combat rifle is not something the army will freak about. Just the precision shooter.... lol

I ran into more that one with significant drifting zero issues. I watched as a musketry team guy's shots drifted left to right with every round, for a one meter group at 100m. That was a training rifle so who knows what happened to it.

New ones are fine, but I wouldn't buy one unless I had a colt Canada to mount it to for sentimental reasons. There are better options, especially at that price.

The earlier c79 had problems with drift but those were resolved with the A2 model.

From my experience the c79a2 are ridiculously durable and reliable

They lose zero over time. Always check thumbscrews for tightness. But I've shot decent groups with them out to 300m with c77. I would prefer an acog. And the units that have the choice of optics on their c8s don't run c79s... use that how you want. And the units that can have a c8 picks that over the c7.
