Hello CGN.

It have a need for a new F-TR rifle stock.

I would prefer a wood and carbon fibre laminate but an open to other types.

As far as design or style, it must have a flat bottom rear to ride smoothly in a rear bag.

I know of several US based stock makers but would prefer to give my business to a Canadian maker.

I thought I'd seek the collective wisdom of CGN to help me find one.

Any and all recommendations are appreciated.

Take a look at the Eliseo stocks at gotxring. com. Not wood or carbon fibre laminate but something different. I am building a TR rifle on his prone stock.

Thanks for the leads gents.

I talked with Henry Rempel and unless I want to order several he's not interested. I will have to check out MCRS.

Maynard. I am familiar with Mr. Elisio's products. However, unless he's moved north he's an American based in the US. I would like to support a Canadian business.

Ian Robertson in Ottawa seems to have sold his business to felsocomposites.

i think that happened 3(?) years ago or so.
He was training a guy or alluded to it in the last posts I read on here from him but haven't seen him around in a while.
I was trying to prototype something for a friend's F-class rifle but seeing as I don't shoot in that arena it was a slow start. I stopped making stocks a few years ago but was going to fire the shop up again last spring and then trudeau banned a few rifles I made stocks for, rendering my investment and business plan useless.
I think Canadians will be hard pressed to find any new blood in the canadian stock making market so it's more important now more than ever to support canadian made.
did you reach out to mystic precision?

For the life of me I can’t really understand why they won’t allow people to post pics or advertise their small businesses. It would be a great thing for the members, especially since people are kind of branching out with side work etc now, personally I’ve done some stuff for myself, made one stock and modified and refinished another. It’s been my experience that there’s a LOT of talent on these boards and just in general in Canada and they make great stuff. A guy in the next shop over spins metal, the TDSB makes the school Ella that they give as retirement gifts in China. Crazy...

I did some for a time, I was making stock for Savage Axis before Boyds came out with theirs, so I put a stop to that.
Now with a 1 year old boy in the house my shop time is scarce. If there is demand might start again in a couple of years...

cgn dealer fees are a bit cost prohibitive for us guys who never plan to grow into bigger operations and just want to operate a small gig to supplement the disability or retirement.
not complaining..... it just is what it is.

Some of the nicest F class stocks are made by Daryl McLean here in Manitoba
