Dull??? Bud, On my BMQ-L, I saw one stuck in the concrete floor, when Sgt tossed it during morning inspection. They are not samurai swords but they are sharp.

Also to those who dont know, there should be a built in sharpening surface on the scabbard - it is currently covered up by the frog.

My issued one came brand new in the bag and is sharp. The scabbard can be paired with the bayonet and used to cut barbed wire, concertina wire, comms wire and in a very effective manner too.

Its definitly an upgrade to the retarded "ice pick" we use to call our bayonet...

I found an original matching bayonet for my dads .303 No.5 MK1 Jungle Carbine, and it was over $500... If this is the matching bayonet for the C8? I'd dish out. They were never offered with the rifle which is a drag. Why not I'll never know ?

That is because Colt Canada doesn't make the bayonets, they are purchased from Eickhorn in Germany. You can buy the exact same bayonet from them any time you want but it won't have the Maple Leaf mark on it. Ammosource either negotiated that marking with the manufacturer or were able bulk purchase some new, never issued surplus CAF bayonets. Also I am looking for a No 5 bayonet - I hope I can find one for less haha.

Been a place in St Alberta, Alberta, which has the occasional Eickhorn Cdn bayonets for sale.
