Canadian Forces Korean War

The Can recon gun jeeps had their C1 (1919A4) mounted on a swinging gun mount bolted to the right hand side (passenger side) of the jeep body just below the battery compartment cover. It was one of the strangest MG gun mount you would ever see on an army jeep.

Here is mine:

The gun shown here is a dewat, but I will drive to the range once and a while with the TNW M1919A4 in the mount (canvas bag over it of course: I have to pass the RCMP station on the way) to pop off 500 or so rounds on a Saturday morning.

Stencollector, this is sick. Is there anything you don't own or used to own in your milsurp collection?

Mine is live semi also . Fun to shoot on the mount. Only draw back is it is illegal to shoot from a vehicle so have to swing the gun to the side & stand on the ground :D
At least I don't have to pick up my casings as they all end up on the floor :dancingbanana:

To fire mine you remove the windshield and swing the mount so it is directly in front of the crew commander. The empties land on the floor. Best not to wear shorts when shooting (as one member of the PPCLI learned last summer).

The wire cutter out front used to present a problem back in the militia days. The guys would occasionally put a round or two through them during live fire ex's. It became the norm to remove the wire cutter for live fire.

You should be allowed to use the access road that runs down the left side of the range at Vic F&G :D
