Canadian IPSC Nationals

I'd like to see a percentage of attendance/participation/slots per provincial members attending the Nationals match.
As an example....BC had an attendance of 271 shooters in 2014. In 2011 Ontario had 237 shooters attend. What percentage of shooters originated from the hosting province, and percentage from outside?

Attendence seems awful low this year, even though Ontario has the most shooters in the Region.
Why are more people attending Nationals outside of Ontario as a percentage?

Interesting question... curious about the answer!!!

There are 24 squads with 8 people each. That makes for a capacity of 192 people in the main match. The match is already running over 4 days to accomodate that many people when, historically, Nationals is typically a 3 day match.

I believe that BC was able to support 36 squads over 3 days with 12 active ranges at a time while Sharon has 6. Restigouche had 13 active ranges.

I would think that the number of ranges kind of dictated the capacity of the match. NB and BC matches had only one stage per bay (except for small courses which were doubled up)... This year, all the courses are doubled up by necessity which mean you have fewer shooters shooting at any given time.. Result? Lower match capacity.

This years Nats crew has had to work with what they had and so far I can't fault them on some of their decisions.

When we had the Nationals at poco in BC we had seven active ranges, running a four day format. With a flip of stages at the end of the second day, we had twenty stages, with a round count of just under 400. We had planned for a capacity of 300.

anything interesting from the AGM?

Actually yes!!!

There was a total of 8 IPSC members that attended, including myself and another that drove 2 1/2 hours to attend. The 6 other people that attended were from out of province and attending the Nationals. As well, 1 other non-IPSC person attended.

There were some pretty interesting figures stated, at least to me, from the secretary/treasurer.

Each Section Co-Ordinator explained what they were doing in their provinces.
The Section co-ordinators in attendance were BC, ALBERTA, MANITOBA, ONTARIO AND NOVA SCOTIA. As well the Secretary of the NEC.

It was.......interesting.

Is this was open to everyone????

If so, I didn't know!!!

Anyone know what time the banquet is? Didn't see it posted on the match site.

Edit: never mind it was hiding in the open your eyes section on the main page.
