Canadian Made .50cal mags

I was super interested in getting some of the AA ones when I saw them, but, from what I can tell, they've simple taken a 30 round CAA 5.56 mag, and had it stamped .50 Beowulf.... They've then been pinned to 5.8 rounds for import into Canada.... Grey area. Aweome? Yes. I'm still of the opinion that it all comes down to the follower and marketing, as, a single stack magazine wouldn't rely on a follower with a bump designed to impart a stagger....

I thought the Alexander Arms magazines were as about as official as we could get?

Could have sworn I was told that both the USGI and Polymer Alexander Arms magazines had gone in front of the RCMP? Their status and legality was pretty fixed in my mind. It's all these new "on the bandwagon" magazines that haven't been examined yet.

We've been hearing from what, six or eight different people now that fifty beo mags are "on the way"? It just seems like the OP's guys are the first to actually have something to sell.

Looks too sketchy for me to send hundreds of dollars. That website is so basic, and what company manufactures just one product? Sounds like the guy that got kicked off here a while back trying to sell those magazines... he thought he'd get smart and make a website to look legitimate and try again.. Until some people actually receive these and say they are legit, and the whole grey area of the mags sorted out I will continue to use my Pmag and LAR mags. I hope that they are legit and everything works out as it would be great to have some more of these types of magazines kicking around.

This may be true, and, ultimately, what it may come back to is 5 rounds max for a legitimate caliber.

These new ones are certainly designed that way, as, they're not full length. Of course, that makes them a no go for me as I have literally no use for them, well, that and they look like the old Thermolds (which were ugly) but, they may be okay. That being said, I'm still of the opinion that it all comes down to the follower. The 5.56 follower is designed specifically to work with the double stack 5.56. Using it for a large single stack round would be cost effective, but, points to not being designed from the ground up....

However, all that being said, the follower itself really has little to nothing to do with the capacity of a magazine, so, maybe it's a non issue.

I'm really hesitant to say the CAA/AA ones are "safe" though....

Yup!
Boys who cares what they look like???? They are a completely legal way to put 15 rounds in your AR or gun that takes AR mags. They work! I have a few that I'm going to do a review on. I'll try to get the video up ASAP.
So far I'm very happy! They work great which is all that matters.
Cheers,
Trevor

Looking forward to seeing the video Trevor. Did you order yours from the website?

Is this product approved for sale in Canada?
Has the business made arrangements for promotion of this product on CGN?
Pending clarification, this thread is being closed.

Until we see official RCMP's declaration of the status of magazines that are marked in generic terms such as "50 cal", which is not an actual SAAMI caliber, magazines with such markings will not be allowed to be discussed at CGN.

We will only allow the discussion of magazines that are designed and marked for specific existing calibers, such as 50 beowolf, 50 AE, etc.
