There is alot of guy`s on the net , but in the states . And it is a pain in the asssssssssss ordering anything to do with guns from the states . So if anyone can pass on to me where I can get some custom grips , or a canadian web sight I can check out let me know . thanks in advance Joe

Try e-bay... I got a set of genuine buffalo hron grips for my 1911 for 30 bucks.... just ask if they will ship to canada first (ask for shipping cost too)

I just ordered and received a set of grips from a guy in the States for my Norinco 1911 and it was nothing but a smooth experience from my end as the buyer.

If your order total comes to more than the $100 US export restriction you can ask the retailer to separate it into multiple orders...for instance if your grips are really expensive he can put each piece in a separate mailing envelope and provide two invoices, each one under the $100 limit.

Brownell's has an excellent selection of 1911 parts and will ship them to you using any method you specify. They have also demonstrated superior customer service in all the purchases I have made from them. On their website it will also show you if the parts you wish to order are on the "export certificate required list" and can help you go about exporting them legally.

Gun Grips, sights and parts are sent to Canada from the states with zero problems as long as the package is properly identified for customs purposes.

I've ordered grips from Nevada, sights from Texas and they all arrived within a couple of weeks. Only one shipment took longer because it was sent just as the xmas rush started and took 4 weeks due to customs backlog.

I wouldnt worry about problems getting them shipped.

High shipping costs ...

I just received a pair of nice Hogue "reproduction" grips for my 1911, but the pleasure of unwrapping the package was offset by the goofy $16 shipping charge. For four ounces of wood in a small blister-pack ...

The USPS website isn't too clear about the costs. If it's a "parcel" (as opposed to a thick envelope??) it's gotta be $16 no matter how small or light. International First Class mail (up to four pounds) to Canada (slow, but so what) is less than three bucks.

I've purchased several holsters from fair-minded eBay retailers that were sent in "specialty" envelopes for about six dollars. Others will try to gouge you on shipping costs. Big surprise, eh?

I've ordered a bunch of Ahrends grips from D&J Gun repair in Virginia (http://shop.dandjgunrepair.com) for my S&W revolvers--they also have Ahrends grips for Officers 1911's. I've found quality to be top-notch and the shipping to be quick and painless as well...door-to-door usually a week or two.

Kimber has decided not to ship parts to Canada anymore. They told me that they lost too many shipments. I wanted to order some grips myself. Ebay works awesome as long as you email the seller beforehand.
