What's the deal on these? When I Google Thermold Mags I come up with two different american addresses for the company. They are dirty cheap in the States. Are they in fact made in Canada and if so, where are they sold?

Thanks,
Trevor

Nobody will say anything good about them. I didn't think they were ever made in Canada and the fact we used them is the endless selling point the company used. As a range mag, okay. As military, no way! I saw somebody in CF accidentally drop one. 30 round burst!

JUNK!!! I used them way back when I was in the reserves. They were designed to come fully loaded to make resup quick and easy, then to smash when empty so the enemy couldnt use em (or so I was told). Back in the day we used them for training only. They gave us metal mags when we went overseas, cause even the brass knew they were crap.

The US military just banned PMAGs so wait a little bit and you'll find those dirt cheap, and you can run them over with a truck...

The mags you guys were reusing were the cheap ones, and were made to be used once and thrown away, there are other version, and the versions i HAVE YOU CAN USE A 1000 TIMES WITHOUT MALFUNCTION. Thant being said there are better options out there, best mag for loading and actual feeding of the rifle were the HK ones but they have weight as a con, also the original HK mags feed lips can bend easily, the new ones are better.

Actually they didn't. There was a correction notice issued, if you find the original thread discussing the issue you will see it was all a non-starter.

The thermold mags were the only ones I got to use in the CF and they were pure junk. Absolute junk. I would never buy one, never.

i have one and its pretty much crap compaired to the other mags out there. it fits super over tight in my one norinco and then on the other norinco i have it wont fit high enough to engauge the mag release. and the plastic is real cheap its no tapco or magpul.

The Norinco is the problem in the equation there not the magazines that is at fault.

The old ones are well known for stoppages and breakage, at least the CF issue ones were. The new PMAGs are apparently incredible, best in their class... but of course the army doesnt allow their use.

I remember when thermold magazines were first issued to us for our M-16 rifles back when I was in the Philippine Army 20 years ago, "they only look good in parades or when doing gate guard duty" - but when it comes to actual combat in the jungle, they suck like hell! We put our faith in the old reliable metal mags.
