We will be holding a Canadian National Team Training and Tryout session on Sat May 31 and Sun June 1 at Homestead Range in Kananaskis Country, west of Calgary.

Another training session and team tryouts will be held during the Western Canada F-Class Championships at Vokes Range in Chilliwack:
Tryouts – June 26
Training – June 30th

Eastern training sessions to be held at a future date in Ottawa, details to be added later

This training session is for all previous team members, both F-Open and F-TR as well as any other interested parties wishing to take part in the World F-Class Team Championships taking place at Connaught Range in Ottawa in 2017.

We are currently developing a Junior team as well so any Juniors (under 25) that wish to be a part of a World Class shooting team, this is your chance to get a head start and see what team shooting is all about.

You must be a member of a PRA (Provincial Rifle Association) to attend the training session and you must RSVP to Eric Bisson @ fcwc2017captain@gmail.com if you plan on attending. Sorry, no drop in’s.

If you have ever wanted to shoot in a Team environment at a National, International or World Class event, this is the perfect opportunity to get a feel for what it is like and hopefully we can encourage and train some new shooters to become part of our team.

Objective of the Team Training Sessions

Primary: To train, develop, assess and then select members for the 2017 F-Class World Championship Team.

Secondary: To develop future team shooters and coaches, and raise awareness for Long range shooting in Canada.

Come on out and give it a try. It is a lot of fun. If you feel intimiated, don't worry. It is not necessarily where you are today but how you can develop for 2017.

Home Turf, great chance to improve all of your skills and we are competitive with teams around the world.

The World Championships is our Olympics and we are working for GOLD.

Just a quick reminder about the Junior orientation and Match this weekend at the Homestead range west of Calgary.

We are having a Team shooting Orientation and a Mini Match, Juniors must be members of a PRA but will not have to pay any match fees.

All senior members wishing to come out for the Orientation and team match, will have to provide a PRA membership card at time of registration along with the 2 day entry fee of 40.00. Bring all applicable equipment for team shooting, with about 100 rounds of ammunition for the weekend.

Range will be open at 8:00am, with registration and range officers safety briefing at 8:30am.

If you have any questions, please contact Eric Bisson at highmarkcontracting@gmail.com.

Thank you

Just a quick note to remind everyone looking to be considered for a spot on the Canadian National team, that we are having a training session and a try out, on Thursday June 26 and Monday June 30. This is in conjunction with the firing of the 2014 Western Canada F-Class Championship in Chilliwack BC.

Training session will start at 10:30am on Thursday, and will be for those trying out for the team. All shooters will string fire under command of a wind coach and individuals targets will be saved for future evaluation.

Everyone must let me know ahead of time and have their names on the team mail out list. Please bring 60 rounds for the two days of training, and all equipment needed for team shooting. This is not the individual practice for the Westerns, as that will start in the afternoon after registration.

These training sessions are one of the best ways for team management to evaluate new members. Anyone wanting to be considered for the 2017 World Championship team, will need to attend these very important training sessions. Please RSVP with Eric Bisson at fcwc2017captain@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing everyone out at the Western Championships, and hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Cheers
