Well Mrclean and myself (BMW) have set sail to the Nat's. A truck load of Guns, Ammo, Gear and Beer. What better way to spend a weekend. Except ....yep Stopping along the way to whack some critters. "Prairie Dog Be Gone" has nothing on what is about to be unleashed....:sniper:...:p

Make sure you dress Mr. Clean in a hat. We don't want the prairie sun to boil his noggin while you guys are in a sleepy hung-over mess dusting prairie dogs.
 
George contrary to what you may have heard in Ontario, Gophers are great eating. Slow roasted over the Bar BQ. Some good Ontario wine and you should be good to go for the Nationals. Just skin and gut and you are in for some kind of eating.
Some out here will stuff with wild mushrooms and celery stock garnished with onions.

I'll bet there are other Westerners who will chip in with their own recipes.

That is why you slow roast them over your Bar BQ. Those in the know collect the drippings to make a truly savoring gravy. Kinda makes me want to unwrap the .22LR and head over to my old stomping grounds around Forestburg.

Post game update, no gophers and I did wear a hat and there was no leash.
Four hours of driving around on gravel roads was fun even with no shooting.
 
Did you wear your usual boots too? Or did you switch to rubber ones? You know, the banker style ones. Not the red ones heel to toe. Just in case.....
 
Just the regular Dakotas in case I stepped on a snake.
Don't forget, rubber boots make livestock all skittish like.:eek:
