Never heard of them. Not much useful intel on his website as far as where he may be located or anything of any merit other than that he believes in himself.
My concern would be with someone not listing where they are or full contact info, what happens if something goes amiss?

He may be the best in the world, but his website is vague and sets off alarm bells in my mind.
 
I wouldn't jump to conclusions, there may be some very good work done outside of this site. I have gotten some very good deals on quality stuff from folks not associated with this site.
 
I've never heard of them but that, in itself, should not be a red flag as I am just a consumer but the fact that ATRS haven't heard of them is a bit more concerning.

If you wish to use this new ( to me ) fellow why not shoot him a note and ask for some references etc so you can do your due dilligence ? Alternatively you can go to someone recognised by the many people on this site who have had customs built for them. The lack of location/real contact info would be a concern to me - eg out West you can go to ATRS ( I have been, seen the rifle being built for me - very impressive) or, back East, Tactical Ordinance (I have a rifle built by Casey at Tac-Ord - also impressive) for example but this new fellow is located where exactly ? He could be top notch but I recommend more research before making what may well be a considerable investment.

Edit : See my post on Page 2 - others I know speak highly of the guy therefore 'good 'nuff for me.

I have been using a gunsmith that doesn't even have email:eek::runaway:He builds top quality F Class, target rifles, benchrest rifles and even does work on shotguns. He has 2 lathes and a Bridgeport right in his basement.

That being said, if the red flag goes up about this new gunsmith you are looking at, maybe you should find someone else.

The Fellows name is Trevor Tupic, He shoots in some of the F-Class matches down here on the coast , mostly in F open with the rifles he builds and they seem to shoot well, He can be hard to get a hold of , smithing is just a side line for him he runs another buisness as his main source of income , Just because he is not well know and dosen't have a fancey website wouldn't cause me a red flag, Look at McPhee he is IMO one of the best Smiths in Canada and he doesn't even have a website.

Brent Yes it does help. I know you and you know Trevor, so that lends some credibility. The concern is when guys who have been in the business for a long time have never heard of a guy, and that guy has little useful info on his sole form of advertising. There are some unscrupulous individuals in society, and the great thing about forums like this is those with questions can ask them and get information from those who know either things or of people in the culture..

I would suggest he add some location intel on his website and contact info, like phone number. I understand not necessarily wanting to post a street address for security reasons having been there when I worked from home.

I have seen some pretty crappy work from shops that have the state of the art website and such all that tells me is he can build a website, does not do anything for his quality of work on a firearm. just my opinion but I think the oringinal poster is going about it the right checking for references. Lots of people beleive everything they read on the internet then jump on the bad wagon and start promoting products that they have never seen or tried.
 
i had my rifle (re) bedded and blueprinted by trevor, he only took a week and it wasnt even that expensive

all the work seems quite well done and i wouldnt hesitate to go back to him

I know Trevor personally as well and I can tell you that you won't meet a pickier guy when it comes to machining and gunsmithing. Seen a few of his rigs at Volks and at Mission where we shoot...gets kinda boring watching him shoot bug holes all day.

Good guy...give him a call and leave a message if he doesn't answer.
