"Canadian Province Edition" Colt Python?

I will have a go at it, or maybe forward to Cat to do it. Will have to get my daughter to send me the files, she did all the photographic work for me, even built a light box for the event. Give me a day or two and will be happy to oblige....

Neat looking book. Do you recommend it?

Just as an interesting aside, amazon.ca lists it at $320.00 while it's $87 US on amazon.com

Just went through the exact same process. I'm not much of a book collector, but I love me some Colt.

One of the Canadian retailers had one for sale somewhat recently - within the last 2 years I want to say. Can't remember who though. Nice guns for sure. If I had the money to buy one, I'd probably shoot it at least once...

I have a nice Python that was a special order from the Custom shop, with Patridge front sight and Elliason rear. Trigger tuned and lighter main spring, set up for Bullseye. I'm the third owner, it has thousands of rounds of 38 special down it, and is still in VG+ condition. I shoot it. I would never shoot a Province Edition. Just my way of doing it. One to shoot, some to collect. Why depreciate your investments?

I should figure out 54k into Ca $ but it could fry my brain.
I should go back in my records , as I had a python commemorative of some kind years ago, in a colt wood display case, Old age is setting in, I can't remember what it was; it sat there and said shoot it, and I could not bring myself to do that.
I took it on trade for a new colt 1911NM , because the fellow that had it , had the same problem, hat to have a gun and not shoot it, these days that would not be a problem as I have shoot lots of them.
I could have sold it at the Calgary easter show?

If may be mistaken, but I think it was the gun store in Port Perry Ontario that had one of these.

Wow - what a beauty to have in your collection, TC. I'm not usually into the engraving at all, but I can certainly make an exception for this one. Just wow.

Thanks everyone. I actually fall in the same category as Zedbra, never had a commemorative anything, or engraved gun before as they just aren't my cup of tea. I like a good looking gun, but not much on 'embellishment' for the most part. But when my friend sent me pics of this, it did make my heart do a little tippy tap. When I got it from him, we were under the impression that it was one of maybe 50+ per province, from info posted on the Colt Forum. Imagine my surprise to find out it is a unique, one-off for each province. If it had been any province other than Alberta, I don't think I would have done it, nothing personal, but this is home right? So the connection thing just happened. I'm glad I have it for sure. As I mentioned to gdawg in a text yesterday, the pictures really don't do it justice, particularly the engraving. It is so much better looking in person.

I've not personally seen pics of any others except the Sask gun in the book, and the NB gun that recently sold.
