Canadian rifle box

Came across this today.Wonder what ever happened to the Long Branch that lived in this box? Was it stenciled while in service or after? Believe 11L would be 1942 production year LB. There are a couple clear C-broad arrows, an LB logo and 1945 stamps.

This sling was inside. Is 4 inches shorter than regular Enfield web sling , so what..sten?

I have one of those.
My ex father in law painted it bright green.
I should strip the paint some day and look for markings.

He said they were using the Army was using them for firewood at one time.

Early 90's Chilliwack, Supply Techs they were giving them away. 9 I carried had additional paint.
