Canadian Sporting Rifle

The American can import military style firearms so they get part kits and build from them so its up to the person making them if they are chrome lined or not. We are getting them from Poland? And theirs aren't, we'll atleast to then 5.45s aren't.

The link I'm talking about is for the Canadian importer of these rifles. Trigger Wholesale. It's on their website that is says chrome lined bore.

So I guess it is chrome lined? I mean, it says it is, and the only reason I'm questioning it is because I think someone previously said it isn't.

The recievers will be semi auto only american made if these were built from real deal tantals they would be converted autos. Look up nodak spud they make recievers for most ak rifles. Most ak's in america contain only parts of their original parent to be 922r compliant. These from what i understand are coming from the US not poland so these will be mostly american made tantals

And im sure the restricted version would use chrome lined barrels because they are coming here un changed. The non restricted will probably have some obscure non chrome 7.62 barrel slapped on it unless they could find a company to make us custom barrels that are to proper length and chrome lined but heck we couldnt get that with our most beloved non res sporting rifle the cz858. Thats one thing that impresses me with norinco they chrome alot of their barrels

Watch the RCMP go all type 97 and deem these easily convertible once a container load of 2500 rifles gets held by customs

The importer should have kept their lips shut till they were ready to ship because of this. Face it, the RCMP firearms lab isn't the sharpest place in the world and I wouldn't put it past us to figure it out for them before these rifles even arrive. I'd go as far as to say all threads should be locked and deleted till they arrive. No point doing their job for them.

If the FRT has been issued, then the lab has already had one of these for months to play, tinker, and try to make full auto. The original thread on this was locked quickly last October. This process has been in the works since then at least. It didn't just start a day or two ago when the mass media of CGN found out.

I do realize that. What I fear, is that an overexcited cgn'er will do lots of research and find some obscure reason for the rcmp lab to reclassify it as prohibited before they even enter the country. They can always go back and change it(ap80/10-22 bullpup/you get the idea). If the importer said today, "We have a cool new rifle and 2500 units ready for shipment." They would sell out in 24 hours. With the long gun registry no longer in place, I would bet they could all be shipped within 2-3 days. Now when said excited cgn'er finds this obscure prohibited classification justification, its too late and 2500 units are gone. Face it, the firearms lab is there to make sure as many firearms as possible don't fall into the non restricted category. ESPECIALLY one as red as this one.

However, I will eagerly buy one as they look very cool. I am not trying to be a bummer, I just think sometimes we really are our own worst enemies.

Oh my god this is such great news as a person who recently lost my prohib status on my pal and lost my AK 74 thanks to not renewing my pal on time I was merely late by one week but that doesn't matter so please let me know when these rifles are in and I am so in to buying one to replace my lost Ak.

Sorry to hear about your lost AK. That would be frustrating.

At least you'll be able to (legally) shoot this "not AK" AK. :)

WTF? - Polish 5.45 barrels are chrome lined - this gun, as sold in the US in 5.45 has a hard chromed barrel. Interarms does actually know what it's doing (they've been doing it profitably since the 1950's) I'd guess the 762 will be chrome lined as well - because there are more chrome lined barrels for rifles of this type in 762 than there are non-chrome lined.

Why do people say that. Obviously valmets are extremley rare to begin with and made of EXCELLENT quality

The rarity and quality was probably about 70-80% of the price, the rest being "This is the only AK you can have" gouging.

They won't plummet in value, but I could see them taking a bit of a hit provided these Tantals come into Canada in big numbers.

Indeed...

I want 2 of each!

Are these all based on the Tantal platform and possible for approval or only the polish model 88's?. I really want an AKM style with slant muzzle brake.

I remember writing something awhile back saying that the USA...AK's are coming, and someone said....will never happen, so I'll say it again the US AK's are coming.!!!!!!!! :)

True but the Valmet M78 is like an Rpk or LMG clone. These tantals are still rifle styles. Different animals in my eyes
