Canadian Sporting Rifle

The less we call this thing an ak or tantal or anything prohib the better, no point feed the ignorant false buzzwords to get this project killed. It's the Canadian sporting rifle. It's not a tantal, it's not an ak. Like what was posted, urban tactical leaked these early, lets hope the sewing circle gossip from this fallout won't give the RCMP any fuel to go type 97 on these. This gun makes me go from six to midnight, as it is sofa king cool. Conscientious magpul appears to b making ak mags, so ak pmags sound cool, and the ability to run ak furniture is awesome. I will wait for some other dealers names to be posted and get on those lists. But I won't get ahead of myself, I assume this wasn't supposed to be released yet for a reason.

Im in complete agreement. From this point on, I'll exclusively refer to it as the CSR.

The Canadian Sporting Rifle...

Having dug my way this deep in this thread, can I still consider myself a Canadian Sportsman with a SKS, a 10/22 with some improvements, a 12 gauge Win 1200 pump and a bubbaed LE .303 BR. if I don't lust after one of these rifles?

My plate if full with what I've listed above along with some BP cap locks.:)
.

Guys - I just got this email from Trigger Wholesale:

Thanks for the message Bob.

These items are not for sale or pre-sale. The information that leaked out was unauthorized and contained misinformation.

A few facts:
-The rifles are not AK's or AK Variants.
-They are not branded High Standard.
-Pricing has not been released.
-Images and technical information have not been released.
-The images being passed around are the actual AK's that I bring into Canada which are prohibited. Someone has taken them off my website.
-The rifles will not be for sale in 4-8 weeks.

If the information doesn't come from Trigger Wholesale, it is most likely inaccurate.

The best way to get updates on this product is to check our website or follow our Facebook page. We post regularily.

-Facebook search "Trigger Wholesale"

Sincerely,

Not the first time it has happened around here. Oh well, all in good time.

Kinda disapointing... This is going to feel like for ever. If anyones going to the show in orangeville tommorow please ask some more details from urban tactical for us

Yea but you can't buy 2000 rounds for under $200 of 7.62 ,, 5.45x39 Russian surplus is by far the cheapest most abundant ammo down south , and a great round hardly any recoil and very accurate ..

Operative words being "down south". 5.45x39 doesn't seem to have caught on here, unless you want to pay in excess of $1/round on Hornady V-Max. Nothing against 5.45x39, but it's still a niche cartridge in our market. I support the decision to go with 7.62x39 in Canada; plenty of SKS and CZ 858 owners to create demand for the cartridge.

Agreed!:agree:

So question, I'm a newbie here but I'm kinda confused. What makes this gun "Not an AK"? They said a number of parts can't be swapped out with AK Parts... but looking the tantal up on Wiki says the opposite. That the Wz.88 can take the bolt carrier group, and other parts of AKs.

I believe what makes it not an AK is because it is not built to be an AK.

It's not a tantal, there is absolutely no info on this gun on trigger wholesales website, no info anywhere yet. It's just a gun that accepts ak furniture, mags, and uses the same ammo, I think. I'm going to wait for info from the actual source, not just the gossip from urban tactical.

Type 97 all over again. Hopefully part 2, not part 1.

That's what I'm scared of. I hate to be pessimistic, but it just takes one ignorant person to hear ak, look at the pictures on triggers website and see a different gun that urban tactical showed us, which happens to be prohib, and the whole thing gets sunk. I understand trigger wholesale not wanting this released yet

Anybody going to the Orangeville show tomorrow? Snap a pic of it!
They will have it in person there. So that will be our proof if someone ends up going.

If I don't end up going to the range tomorrow I might swing by the show.
