Canadian suppliers list :.223 rem and 5.56mm ammo updated

The latest pricelist for .223/5.56 can be found here.

Notes:
  • Not all merchants in Canada are listed.
  • Prices become less valid with every passing moment.
  • Some items listed may be out of stock.
  • Only ammunition with projectiles of 4 gram mass or greater are listed.
  • Not responsible for the accuracy of the data.
  • Change the tax percentage to the one correct for your province (The first three boxed where is says "13%", select each one and change it to your tax rate, for example "5%" (do not include the quotation marks). Then select all three boxes and having clicked in the lower right corner (where your cursor changes to a cross) of the three selected, drag all the way down the column. Yes, there is a more elegant way to do this but for the goal of this sheet it will suffice.) and add the shipping costs to have a much more precise cost per round.
  • Don't forget that you can sort by merchant, price, type of ammo, or cost per round.
  • Some offers may include added value in the form of ammunition canisters, stripper clips and/or loading spoons, excellent customer service, free shipping, local pick-up. None of that is listed in this sheet. It is up to you to find that out. Maybe the cheaper ammunition isn't as cheap compared to the stuff you can get locally after shipping is factored in?
  • There is no such thing as "free shipping". The shipping costs come out of somewhere, usually by being spread thin over all the product offerings.

Why don't we have Canadian companies pumping out ammunition? Its even more insane that we don't have companies pumping out components for reloading. There are completed cartridges cheaper than the available bullets for reloading. Dont we have lead and copper resources in Canada? This thread needs an update.

I agree...I am surprised there are not more Canadian ammo companies out there - the demand would be there. We have a few Canadian firearms manufacturers. But for ammo, the two that I know, Challenger (Quebec I think) and Score (Manitoba I think), both focus on shotgun shells exclusively. Would be lovely to find a Canadian company that makes 9mm .40, .45, or .223/5.56, .308, etc. I would certainly buy Canadian factory ammo for these calibers if it was out there. I definitely make sure I regularly support Score and Challenger, in the meantime...
