Canadian Tire Carrying Long Rifles Again (Ontario anyway...)

I haven't seen it, but I was told that the CT on Walker road in Windsor is clearing out a huge section of the store for the new firearms section. Not too sure about handguns, but rifles and shotguns for sure.

I've been watching for this to happen. Their new hunting section is huge.
I work pretty close to this store and I'm in there at least once a week.

I am glad to see firearms being carried at a nation wide big box retailer again but I still only resort to buying ammo there as a last resort. I don't know about other stores or other provinces but in the gta a retailer is required to record what ammo they sell and to whom. In my local ct's this is done with a binder where they write down your name, pal number and what you bought as well as some other details. Now from my observation this binder lives in a drawer or shelf behind the counter in the sports department which is usually unmanned, I've never seen it under lock and key. Once the regular pages in this book are filled I have seen employees jot my personal information down on a piece of loose paper and stick it between the pages. Can you imagine what would happen if this book with hundreds or thousands of names and pal numbers fell into the wrong hands? Or even a single page? All this is required by legislation that is supposed to keep people safe, I feel it and retailers lack of due care puts my family and I at risk. This is way off topic for his thread, I should throw it up somewhere else but yeah, for a buck or two more I will buy my ammo from a small retailer who exercises more caution .

Barrie CT on Bayfield has a great selection (say a Mossberg 715T there for 259.00 the other day) and huge hunting/outdoors area.

Orillia is lacking, and the CT on mapleview isnt the greatest either.
