canadian tire-- semi auto rifles

Nothing in the gun cabinet at CT on St James In Winnipeg. Whereas my recent visit to the store in Selkirk was quite refreshing.

Garden City, Kenaston, Selkirk and Steinbach and the only MB CTC stores that carry firearms.

I'm in sudbury ontario, one our local CT's had an issue with an SKS.

Seems a customer didn't clean out the cosmo properly, or didn't know to.
The firing pic got stuck and the gun went full auto.
They pulled them off the shelf right away.

I wonder if that had something to do with it.

Haha, I was wondering why they sold the sks' near me with the cosmo already cleaned off. it's possible they caught wind of that incident, or were educated enough to avoid that problem

I've picked up an SVT40,and a couple of SKS rifles along with crates of surplus ammo from Leduc CT,my girls love going to that store with me.

Wait, that happened here in Sudbury? I thought that happened somewhere else in the country -- unless it occurred here as well. That would explain why I saw no SKSs there when I passed by the gun section (New Sudbury location).

I was in Ukrainian Tire in Leduc the other day where I bought a Mossberg Persuader and they had all manner of semi-auto's.

Ok guys a good friend of mine is corporate Canadian tire I texted him about this thread

There is NO corporate ban on semiautomatic rifles

it also seems like it varies in what get brought in.

Ive seen store selling 50 BMG, KSG, Travor. Where some will just sell whatever cheapest.

The two CT stores fairly local to me that carry guns both have semis. One has SKS and 10/22 rifles, and the other has a lot more such as an M305, Benelli M4, ISSC .22 SCAR, PPS-50, Mossberg 715T, among others.

Here in Victoria, 3 stores don't carry any guns and one started with 1 cabinet but has ordered 3 more, larger, cabinets due to the positive response. The nearest club has been very supportive of the gun sales. Prices are about 10 points off full retail, and since we only have 2 other gun stores in Victoria, one of which uses a dart board to set it's prices, they're doing quite well.

The CT near me is just a hole in the wall. It is dated and there is stuff scattered everywhere but they do have a tonne of handgun ammo including 9mm Barnaul for $16 a box and l&b for $18. In the display cabinet there is a couple of SKSs, a Mossberg Silver Reserve, a couple of Churchills and most interesting a couple of short barrel Henry Mare's Legs.

What's interesting is that the short barrel Mare's Leg in the U.S would be consider a SBR if the Henry did not classify it as a handgun. I guess Canada still considers it a short barrel rifle which is perfectly legal here if the firearm was manufactured that way. I just think it is funny that this CT is selling a product that has on the box, in bold letters "this is a handgun". I was thinking of picking one up just to say that I bought a handgun from a CT and didn't have to register it or arrange an ATT. Canada, our laws and Canadian Tire. Lol

I heard this in reference to the South End location.

There never really sold guns like SKS's in Sudbury CT's for the longest time. They never sold guns at all in the South End Store.
Then all of a sudden last year, the did some reno's and expanded their sports department. Next thing you know, BAM, SKS's galore.

I got wind of the full auto story. The info could be mistaken, but the SKS's did dissapear off the South End shelf promptly after.

I wasn't surprised at all. Old military guns like that, you kind of have to know what your doing to maintain them properly.

What semi-auto military rifles did they sell? SKS' only or M305's and K31's too? Just curious. Local Crappy Tire sells ammo and some reloading stuff, but no firearms.
