My local Canadian tire has a Springfield m14 in stock , I could not believe the price of $2499. Are they that much better then m305?

What model of Springfield M1A is it? If it is just the basic model, then that is expensive. If it is the National Match model then the Canadian price is close but still higher than IRunGuns. Springfield M1A will have better finish to it and will likely not have any issues such as improperly indexed barrel, sights out of alignment etc. Standard Springfield M1A accuracy is same as a good M305. The National Match model will be more accurate than the M305.

Define much better.... They work and go bang some work better then others some don't work at all. Are you handy? If not buy someone else's that is or get the Springfield. Or some other high end one like lrb smith ect. The finish leaves a lot to be desired on a norinco but it's not horrendous and it's a forged receiver vs the springfields cast one. But the cast one feels and looks better. From what I've seen at least on wanstalls site. Man that's like pretty close to what a loaded is going for. Does it have NM stamped in the barrel. Is it synthetic wood stainless. Really so many variables that aren't said it might even be a good or on par price

M1a: Better fit and finish, better quality, better barrrl, better metals, better QC, better fine tuning, better stock, better sights, better tools, better gun boner... ect

Norinco: better Reciver construction, better price.

Yes, Springfield kicks the he'll out of norinco, but with allot of work a norinco can shoot just as well.

I own both. This is it, exactly.

I have a Norinco that I have upgraded & I am still in for LESS than 1/2 of that cost you list for the Springfield. So, NO I don't think the Springfields are 'that' much better than the Norinco's...

Cheers
