Canadian tire

Guy's at Ramakkos are great.

But in actuality at least two of the regular employees right now in sporting goods at the Sudbury CT (on Lasalle) are active club shooters. They gotta stock shelves etc. etc. but I've found they are still good about unlocking a gun on the rack so a prospective buyer can look it over. No grumble and moan that I've noticed personally.

The south end CT (across from Ramakkos) does not have any firearms to sell.

I rarelybuy anything gun related at Canadian Tire. If they can't sell guns in all the stores, and a full line of gun accessories, then why would I want to spend $10.00 in gas to save $1.50 off a box of ammo?

Yep, The Barrydowne location isnt too bad :D

All CT locations in Sudbury have a few long guns. All non-restricted from what I could tell.

Bearing that, the guys at Ramakko's tackle are a bit friendlier (read: alot), and they actually let you handle the firearm without making you out to be a psychotic maniac. They'll also hold the firearm purchased till you get your papers in order. CT people... The grumble and moan. Can't complain, most of these guys obviously aren't shooters, especially not at $8/hour.

Although, keep in mind, perhaps not having a bit of grey tuff on my hair made me out to be a 'gangsta', though few would actually think that of me.

Its true, I work at Ramakko's (now I may seem biased - hah), but yeah, I know that even though I am a university student and have lots of work to do, I still try to read up on guns as much as I can. I like helping customers with guns, and I always try to be completely honest, If I can save a guy a few dollars, Ill tell him what he should go for, even if it means spending less. I always find our best customers are the blue collar guys who work hard for their money and dont mind listening for our input. Thanks for the comment.

I bought my brother in law a Winchester Model 70 30-06 and myself a Remington 700 BDL 30-06 at Canadian Tire on Sheppard Ave (Toronto) in the early 90-s. All CT stores in the Toronto area have ceased to sell firearms since. Now it's harder and harder to buy ammo. Barkley's completely got out of firearm sales about 10 years ago and eventually has gone out of business. At the mean time gun crimes hit record numbers.
Thank you dear Libretard friends!

The CT in Whitehorse has the biggest 'outdoor' section of any store of theirs I've been in. Freakin' huge....

Ammo selection is astounding too, IIRC.

.

The CT store in South Calgary and in Red Deer are both owned by the same guy who is an avid hunter. Both are great stores but the calgary location seems to have a bit more to offer in the hunting department.

Most CT stores around this area carry paintball and airsoft stuff, as well as bear spray, but few carry ammo anymore, none carry firearms. I know of 1 that still has pellet/bb guns but they have been gathering dust for years.
