Im a little confussed!
My buddy in Sudbury tells me that crappy tire sells guns & ammo. Thats right guns! They do trades even occasionally. Now here in Peterborough we have 2 crappy tires stores. One sells ammo thats about it! Is my friend full of it?

And yes he is a great friend and hunting buddy but hes a jokester and its tough butyng what he has to say sometimes.

It all depends on the owner of each store. In Alberta there are 2 stores that I know of that both carry firearms and have a pretty extensive line of hunting products. There is one in Southern Calgary and one in Red Deer (last time I was there) that are like this. They trade, sell used/new firearms, etc.

The ones here in Victoria do not sell hunting stuff. An employee said "the owner believes killing animals is just wrong, and won't have anything to do with it". I told her I'm never shopping there again, and that she should mention that to the owner next time she sees him/her.

They did in Winnipeg until a guy asked to look at a shotgun at the Isabel Street store, popped in a shell and blew the top of his head off on purpose. Now they only sell ammo, paint and pellet guns.

Guns for sale at Canadian Tire Store on La Salle Blvd Sudbury

I live in Sudbury and have bought several guns from Canadian Tire they definitely sell both used and new and also do trades and buy used guns.

REDWM

Charlottetown CT carries a few. I heard there is a Home Hardware somewhere (ontario?) that carries restricted.
The biggest Wholesaler in Atlantic Canada is a small Ace Hardware in NB

Yeah, the whoelsaler in Atlantic Canada in the Ace Hardware is The Gun Dealer, out of McAdam, NB. It should be called a gun shop with a hardware section, instead of a hardware store with a gun section; the guns rule space 2 to 1. He probably has 300 guns in there at a time, but quite a bit of the cool stuff is in back in the storage area. This is where my Ruger #1H Stainless in 375 H&H came from.

All CT locations in Sudbury have a few long guns. All non-restricted from what I could tell.

Bearing that, the guys at Ramakko's tackle are a bit friendlier (read: alot), and they actually let you handle the firearm without making you out to be a psychotic maniac. They'll also hold the firearm purchased till you get your papers in order. CT people... The grumble and moan. Can't complain, most of these guys obviously aren't shooters, especially not at $8/hour.

Although, keep in mind, perhaps not having a bit of grey tuff on my hair made me out to be a 'gangsta', though few would actually think that of me.

Then I hope the owner doesn't allow barbeques to be sold in the store then either.

I just found out that the CT here in charlottetown no longer has guns (they did about a month ago) I have mixed feelings about it. I am glad that a small business was able to take the traffic from CT but I like the idea of hockey parents seeing the guns every time they go into the sporting goods section.

The stores are completely different: the new one in TO at Sheppard and Leslie carries you name it and more, I went inside the first time since they opened a couple years ago and whoa... But no real guns, of course :(
