Canadian Wild Life service wing tail survey

I'm in on it.
Firm believer in helping wildlife bios gather info. Should help our hunting opportunities and the health of the animals, in this case waterfowl.
 
I'm doing it, it takes little to no time and gives a representative sample of the type and age of birds killed by hunters. In a balanced system hunters should be killing young birds with a few older birds if not the seasons and other regulations should be changed to compensate.
 
I am in it again. 5 years ago I collected and shipped all the wings, tails etc they requested. I got a letter in January that the funding for the examination of the tails etc had been cut. They did thank me for my time......

I have participated in this survey for probably 10 years. While I don't shoot a lot of ducks (10 to 20 a year), it takes little effort to participate.
Biologists need some sort of idea of the types and ages of waterfowl killed so that they can predict populations and hunter success.
