Has anybody thought of putting on a short 3 gun style match in January or February. Cold temps, and winter conditions would make for an extra challenge. A real test for equipment performance and a test for the operator. Just an idea. I would think some lubricant and powder companies may be interested in sponsoring.

Galt Sportsmens Club hosted one back in February.

If you go back through the threads in this forum you'll find the posting.

It was cold, but good. 4 stages. Guys were even taking their coats off to run their stage. I wore snowpants and my winter jacket.

Winter 3 gun. Well YA

The "Frozen Finger" match went for 4 or 5 yrs and finally just died out. Lot of work to put it on depending on
the amount of snow and we usually had an abundance. And cccold, but a good test of your equipment.
Forget now whether it was the second saturday in Dec or Jan.
Good times!!

'Been there, done that. A few times...
It usually sucked.

Doesn't always suck. Sometimes it blows.
Our February 2-gun match this year was -23 at its worst but it wasn't that bad...no patching and lots of reactive, self resetting targets kept us moving through the stages which kept the blood pumping. Surprisingly few gun malfunctions during the match which was great to see.

I think when you have to blow the snow out of your iron sights, it might be time to call it.

Was fun being the guys in 4X4s going home after the guys in cars to make sure none of them were in ditches.
