Hey all,

I touched on this briefly in a more obscure thread, and thought I would bring it up here as well.

Anyone know of any Canadian stock makers who carry walnut stocks at all? I find a lot of dealers import the "tactical" synthetics and what not, but can't seem to find any leads on traditional walnut anywhere. I really don't want to have to under-go trying to make one myself...

I would prefer to shop Canadian, as my past experiences with American stock makers have left me slightly jaded. Thanks -Cameron

Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but I saw an add for this guy in the firearms business directory in the February issue of Canadian Access to Firearms;

For what rifle? Stock makers, generally, deal in custom ordered stocks. Walnut stock blanks can be horrendously expensive. As much as an entire rifle for some woods.

Canadian Stockmaker

Hasnt been the same in Kanada since Scotty Rob died. He used beatiful wood , the stock done to your measurements and specifications , drilled the butt and put in a piece of papyrus with his name on it . If you shake the rifle you could hear the rattle. He also burned a thistle on the bottom of the grip. A true artist. I treasure my Walther with his stock. :(

If you are looking for semi finished, Wilson and Wilcox are possibilities. Jason Spencer, Cary Stricker can certainly do a fine job of restocking a rifle, if you want a custom stock.

Hey sorry about forgetting the details for the rifle:

Basically I need a stock that is semi-finished, and inletted for a FN Large ring mauser action. Not looking for anything AAA fancy-grade or what not, but not a generic piece of junk either for that matter.

Anyways, thanks for the leads. Cheers -Cameron
