Canadian ww2 gun manufactures

and wasent the guy that designed the garand, also a canadian ?

Yes, he was born in Quebec and later emigrated to the US. You can 'google' John C. Garand for more info. There was quite an outflow of people from Quebec to the New England states in the late 1800s/early 1900s to find work in the growing manufacturing sector. Most never came back.

For info on the Cdn made 1919A4 see "The Browning Machine Gun Vol II" Canadian 1919A4 Production section detailing the Border Cities Industies production of the 1919A4 in Windsor 1941-43. BCI made 26009 1919A4s with a W in the serial number, 1W1234.
Local militia had one on issue in 7.62 til the 90s.

DAM YOU!!! Now I have to go out and find one!!!
