AFRA “MAD MINUTE” Precision Rifle Match

This Precision Rifle Match is fashioned after the British Military’s “MAD Minute” and the Scandinavian’s Stangskyting. The idea being to fire as many rounds as accurately as possible into a target in 1 minute (60 seconds), at 300m from the prone position.

There will be two categories, bolt action iron sight and bolt action scope.

• Maximum magazine capacity is 5rds, 10 shot mags are allowed but must be loaded to a maximum of 5 rds.
• You are allowed to use a bipod or rucksack
• No rear bags or rear monopods.
• Slings are allowed.
• No muzzle brakes.
• No weight limit.
• No caliber restrictions, max range template is 338 LM.

There will be three courses of fire:

1. 300m DCRA Target, winner will be highest score. Hitting the target frame 30 times with no center hits will lose to the one who hits the V bull 10 out of 10.
2. Five IPSC targets. The idea is that one must hit each target an equal number of times. If one fires 20 rds and there are 5 targets then one should hit each target 4 times. If one fires 24 rds then one target should have 4 rds in it and the other four should have 5 rds in them. IPSC targets have 5 / 3 / 1 scoring rings.
3. Twenty Balloons. The first one to hit 20 balloons in one minute or less.

The idea would be to have a practice day on the Saturday and the actual match on Sunday, with registration at 8:00 AM and the match at 9:00 AM.

Might have had some interest from service rifle shooters. If the CSRA ever gets reinstated, maybe combine this with a battle rifle match?
