Managed to purchase a Canik Rival last week and I'm hoping the transfer goes through before the government decides to drop an OIC to stop transfers. So what other Magazine will fit this pistol beside the Canik mags that it comes with? Any other after market?

On a more serious note, handgun magazines have been in incredible short supply in Canada. With the years worth of handguns sold in the last week I expect this to just get worse.

Hopefully retailers realize this and start stocking them in mass for all models...

I don't know about the rival with the bit longer magwell since mine hasn't shipped yet but beretta m9 mags fit my sfx with minimal work.
 
I believe P99 mags fit perfectly and P226 mags fit with a bit of work but don't quote me as I haven't tried personally.

So your saying you had to alter the mag for it to fit? I have no experience with altering mags but I'm pretty good with the hands on approach if necessary. Fingers crossed that the transfer will go through in time.
 
Bumping an old thread here instead of starting a new one

Anyone seen any magazines in stock for the Canik pistols, particularly the Rival? I have a buddy who bought one just before the ban/freeze and I've almost got him convinced to take the Black Badge in the spring. Problem is he only has 2 mags and the course requires a minimum of 4. Seems there is some debate on whether Walther mags will or won't fit, and I can't seem to find much for retailers in Canada stocking Canik mags right now (of the full-size variety at least)

irunguns can import them for you, but I haven't seen any in stock in Canada for many months
