Canik TP9 SFx

I had the Canik TP9 SFX but had a few issues with it that made me loose faith in century arms and Turkish firearms. The first issue had to do with the provided screws and the helicoils. The helicoil just spun inside the base plate. when I tried to remove the screw it would not come out without some serious force. I ended up stripping the hex screw head. I waited 6 months for a replacement base plate and screws. During this time I shot the pistol with iron sights. About 500 rounds in a snapped the firing pin. It took 4 months to get a new firing pin. It was at this point I sold the Canik and bought a M&P CORE ported. I cannot say enough good about the CORE. I am a die hard Glock guy but wanted something other than a Glock for a change. I must say, I will NEVER sell the CORE.

You must have gotten a bad one.

There have been many torture test videos on Internet where they took it out of the box and fired 1000 rounds in one sitting

I did 333 rounds at range in one day and only hiccup I ever encountered was thumb catching slide release once and awhile and the slide dropping on an empty mag.

You bet it is a great deal! At this moment probably the best deal on the market iether with or without optic ready.

And it does shoots like a charm! Probably time for you to get a new toy lol

Enjoy

Ummm I am not so sure "she who knows best" would be particularly impressed. LOL I have three guns ahead of this one on my bucket list for this year. Two handguns and a rifle. Both handguns will fit existing holster/mag holder sets. All that said, $550. is a great price for a well commented on pistol.

350 Mag: The problem with youtube videos and even your experience is that neither address the problem and that is support for the pistol. You can run all the torture tests you want but parts can break on the first round fired as easily as the 5K round. It becomes a matter of replacing the part. Canik is no worse a manufacturer or better than Ruger, S&W or SIG. They all use modern CNC equipment and quality parts. Hell the Turks have been making forearms before Mohammed learned to read. They make quality firearms...no question. If it takes six months to replace a firing pin that breaks or to replace a recoil spring than for some users the gun will not be much good.

The gun appears to be to big for IDPA and I would be pleasantly surprised if it fits in am IPSC Production box either. That would be a concern for a lot of shooters.

Take Care

Bob
