canik tp9sa vs girsan mc 28

I am thinking of trying one or the other, somehow I am drawn towards these pistols? I see canik mags around for 50$, not sure about other parts....The mc28 ? not sure about parts? What do you guys think?
 
If you had to pick between Walther P99 and M&P which one would you choose? ;)

both are relevantly new guns to Canada try to handle both if you can.
 
Been very impressed with the Canik....mines getting lots of range time right now...did the same research and decided to try it...it's a dammmmm fine pistol, great trigger( for a striker fire ) soft shooting, good ergonomics...really very well put together...so fair can't fault it..and I'm trying..

Agree. Granted I am a new shooter and the tp9sa is my first pistol so take my opinion for what its worth. As a newb I love the simplicity of no external safety and utilitarian design. Its so easy to take down and clean. Trigger is nice in my limited experience. The break is clean and the short, tactile reset is so easy to feel and react to for a beginner. The black cerakote on mine is very nice. I mention this only as a few reviewers have criticized the cerakote finish on the tan models. Feels solid with no rattles to speak of. As a first time buyer I feel really happy paying $575 for what is a really nice pistol.
 
Update...
Mine was printing high....didn't really like the front sight... So I've sent it to Clarence at bumblebee custom for a f/o install....otherwise I'm still loving it...the black finish is holding up just fine....
 
Here in the states Century arms international is offering parts for the Canik TP9SA series of pistols.
It is said some Girsan clones use Beretta parts, but I do not think that the Girsan MC28 does.
I am thinking real hard about picking a MC28 and th MC28 compact. They are being discontinued here in the US.
 
I can't comment on the Girsan, but I have put quite a few rounds thru my buddies Canik, and it is a great pistol for the money, mags are pricey, the holster in the kit is adequate, and I personally think it is a great looking pistol. They are tested to 50,000 rounds , the barrel is cold hammer forged and they are accurate. The tan finish on my buddies gun has no issues at all, nice pistol for sure
 
The Turks have been making forearms since firearms were invented so there is no reason their guns today should not be quality items. Firearm exports bring in lots of hard currency so I would think the companies have a strong reason to ensure quality in their exported guns.

Having purchased the Girsan mc28 and the Canik TP9SA in the last week , I would say the Canik is much higher quality versus the Girsan.
Not sure,but maybe the quality did not live up to expectations,perhaps this is why they are on closeout in the U.S..
 
I have followed the Canik line for many years, watched how they build and test to the highest standars. I have bought the TP9SA and could not be any happier. The fit and finish are great, the handling is great, the trigger is just as good as a PPQM2 for half the funds. I would not hesitate to buy one, waiting for their 40 version, if and when they decide to bring into North America. Have never heard anything bad about the girsan, but have no experience with one. Guns are very subjective, one will love, one will like, one will hate. You need to get them both in your hands and decide what feels best for you. IMHO
