CANSOF IUR Clone thread

They made the adapters for the 10 inch barrel if I’m not mistaken, however I’ve got the 11.6 barrel and I’m trying to find the actual Allen Engineering M4 collar

The actual AE collars are a ##### to acquire. I spoke with Ron Allen and getting his stuff is cost prohibitive as you’ve got to file the 500 dollar application with the state department and that’s not even a guarantee you’ll be approved. I know Mister Donut here (although I believe he’s been pinked) has one of the proper collars you’d need and he’s the guy that hooked me up with the extended so ATRS and I could reverse engineer a suitable piece for the 10” barrels.

Shoot me a PM and I’ll see if I can dig up his personal email, I doubt he’ll sell you one but he was happy to provide me one to have it cloned by ATRS.

One of these days I should really update the OP with the proper info that has come to light since I started this thread.

He got a permanent ban.

If you really wanted I think this would work as it's for the O.I 12th/AEM5 suppressor, you would just have to use the collar;
https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/muzzle-devices/compensators-amp-muzzle-brakes/ar-15-12th-model-muzzle-brake-kit-22-caliber-prod55418.aspx

Then you could get the airsoft 12th can like mr. donut has, i think it would work.

What did he get banned for?

Is there a collar available that would work on the 15.7 barrel? Are there training suppressors available that will fit the vortex? This seems like a fun project

The SA 15.7 barrel already has the collar. Its combined with the simon sleeve, if you look at the shoulder after the A2 flash hider , you will see it has the proper angle. (Older CF simon sleeves do no have this)
Nordic has the proper threaded vortex to accompany this for the proper setup of the AEM3/15.7 combo.

I believe the Allen M4 adapter collar is the correct one for the AEM3 suppressor, but you might need to reprofile your barrel to accept it. The collar needs an outside barrel diameter of like .620 to slide over.

The SAS use the surefire suppressor which mounts directly to the FH556-216a muzzle device (someone please sell me one) so I guess they figured they’d just beef up the barrel profile.

Interesting. I may be interested in one for my 15.7 iur and in GP! Did it affect accuracy like some of the others posts claim with thiers?

No this does not affect accuracy. I originally had one built by ATRS as an extension for my CC 9.9" barrel and i did notice that accuracy with the barrel/adapter/FH did not give group sizes that i was happy with (6"-8").

This is a sleeve that goes over the barrel end, so no bullets pass through it like the extension. Understand, the adapter from ATRS was Top Notch workmanship, but the combination of the adapter and my barrel simply did not provide acceptable accuracy which could be a number of things and not the adapter itself.

With the 11.5" BCM barrel, collar, Smith Enterprises FH, i obtain about 1.5" - 2" groups at 50m which is acceptable to me (using the same ammunition).
