Hello fellow gun nutz...

I'm new to this forum and hope I've got this in the right place. I'm desperately trying to get my hands on a rifled barrel for my Winchester 1300 in time for deer season this fall but I've heard from Browning that they can't get me one until January 2017! and that's a "maybe".

I've been calling around to a bunch of shops in Ontario and nobody stocks them and would all have to order from Browning for that January delivery. Is there another way to get a barrel for an older gun???

It's getting close to hunting season and I'll need to make sure I put in the right amount of time at the range before taking it to the field.

Any thoughts or leads would be very helpful. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Try Western Gun parts in Edmonton. If memory serves, Win 1200 and Win 120 Ranger also fit . Fully rifled may be hard to find.

Wholesale sports may have new ones.

The way I see it you got three Options 1 lamp,2 find one completely new to you as you want it, and keep yours as a spair, 3 sell yours and give up !! Hopefully number 2 will be your best option and quite possibly be the easiest and least costly and time comsuming. Try to find a barrel here or importing one can be a real pain and in the end allmost cost as much as a complet gun.:shotgun::canadaFlag:

Very hard to find in Canada. These were huge in the US but not in Canada. 120s and 1200s were popular in Canada with smooth bore barrels. In 28" and 20" smooth bore rifle sighted.

I got lucky and scored a like new on consign from prophet River a few years ago fully rifled 1300 speed pump. I put Williams fire sights on it and man is it a wicked deer gun.

It takes a long time on the EE to get barrels for these guns.

Your best bet is to put and ad on the EE for a complete gun. Most don't split these guns up.

Or have a company like prophet River import you a used one from one of the US gun auction sites.

What about having the barrel you have now fitted for choke tubes.

The addition of a rifled choke tube, while not as good as a dedicated rifled barrel, would increase accuracy from a smooth bore.

I had a 1200 done this way back when the non-toxic steel shot was first introduced. I have 4 choke tubes for it. Iirc the cost for the threading and the tubes was around $200-$250 at the time. I have no idea what it's worth to have it done new....

I've got 3 barrels for my 1300. 28" VR with tubes 20" VR turkey barrel with tubes and the 20" rifled barrel. Took long time to get them all. Actually sold off just the receiver from the turkey gun and kept the barrel. Got the 28" VR barrel on here but was still in the $200 range.

I have one that I haven't used in years. I bought it new as a two barrel set in the 80's and after the first few years I only used the 1300 as a goose gun. I have no idea what it's worth but pm me and maybe we can work something out.

+1 on the deer barrel issue. I have had my eye half open for one since I bought the 1300. I tried my dad's 1200 rifled barrel on mine but it didn't quite fit right. Maybe something that I did wrong but it didn't seem to be interchangeable.
