I suspect you'll find what you're looking for by scrolling under, "big game regulations", click on "additional special licence draw hunts", then scroll down to "other species".

Need to pick yourself up a hard copy of the regs. I find it way easier to just read the hardcopy than to find stuff in the regs online. Plus, I always have a copy of the regs in the truck. Been a few times over the yrs where I wasn't just 100% sure about something, and was nice to be able to look it up.
Post again if that's not what you were looking for though.

youll probly have to buy your wild life certificate first then do another transaction to buy your game bird..... same thing happened to me

another question for the wise.

Would my friend be able to come with me for rabbits? he does not have his hunters education course. Would I have to be a hunter host for rabbits?

Thanks again.

If your friend is an albertan, that's all he needs to hunt rabbits. If not....

The regs say:
Other Animals
Porcupine, rabbit, hare, skunk, raccoon and woodchuck may be hunted, but not trapped*, without a licence throughout the province, at all times of the year.

I don't see anything there about residency, so I'd guess they're A-OK. Maybe call F&W to check?

Rabbits are considered 'varmints' (for lack of a better term) and your friend can accompany you (and the whole town) without license, training, or permission from 'the man.' Make sure you are on Crown land, or get landowner permission, and you'll be fine.
