That would be because using a handgun for personal defense is a non-starter in Canada. The cheap FMJ crap always goes through paper just fine and very few people will spend substantially more for no increase in performance. The only reason to spend more is to get quality defense ammo and that is a very small, niche market in this country.

With all the non restricted 9mm carbines available now, I'm hoping we'll see a change in what ammo is stocked and made available to us, but I won't hold my breath. Time for a Dillon.

I bought a box of self defence ammo and regular ammo to see what works better in my firearms. Yes its costs allot more but its more fun to shoot pop cans with a hollow point over fmj if you shoot steel fmj is way cheaper to shoot so it really depends on what you want.
