Can't get this gun clean?

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I looked up the web references for wipe out it looks like it is what I require, Where do you guys buy it? Is the CLP break free foaming bore cleaner as good?

I think Reliable Gun & Tackle on Fraser St. in Vanc. may carry it. (Not sure where you are in B.C.) Otherwise, give Dave at BC Redneck (www.bcredneck.com) a call. It's good stuff.

GM "Cleenz" alternating with Kroil is also a good combo. I read somewhere quite a while ago that someone tested GN Top Engine Cleaner and Shooter's Choice and found they were the same stuff, although I can't vouch for it. I couldn't find Top Engine Cleaner here but got Cleenz (as someone mentioned above, around $8.00/pint- WAY cheaper than Shooter's Choice) and it works well for removing carbon fouling. (Best to use a nylon brush as it may be hard on bronze.) Scrub with Cleenz, let it sit, run a dry patch or two, then run some Kroil through on a brush or patch and let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub with a brush and follow with patches. Reliable G&T also has Kroil. An excellent product. Other CGN'ners might know of other sources.

If it is a tack driver now as is, don't clean it until groups start opening up.

And even then, no need to clean down to the bare metal, if that is even possible.

Yep, prosper nailed it, there's no need to get it right clean. Truth is, many people over clean their rifles. The copper and fouling fills small voids, tool marks, roughness etc, and actually provides a better gas seal. You will often find a slightly fouled bore will outshoot a recently cleaned one. If it's shooting well, why clean it? ;)

x2 for Reliable on Fraser St in Vancouver. Look em up in the phone book and give them a call first.

Thaks everyone for all the advice. I am getting some wipe out but it is on back order until after Christmas. I'll give it a good cleaning and see how it shoots if accuracy decreases dirtying it up again won't be a problem!;)

Wipe out.....once again, I'm new to it and what I've found is that all positive that is said, it true, for the bad ones, leave it over night wipe it then repeat over night. I've found that most competent shops will have it or will be able to get it.
