Hi Nutz

from the day I got into hunting and guns I have had my eye on a rifle. CZ550. Then a few years ago the CZ550 Kevlar carbine came out. That was it that is what I want. Well with moving and buying and house and all the other things in life I had to wait. now I am on the hunt for this gun. after contacting a few dealers it looks like I cant get that configuration in Canada anymore. so I thought about getting the cz550 FS and then trying to get the Kevlar stock separate form Bell&carlson.

So here is what I am looking for in a rifle

30-06
Bolt action CRF
shorter barrel as I am 6'3
synthetic stock
good Irons
good trigger/adjustable
stainless would be nice but not must
detachable mag would be good but not a must

Can you guys help me out trying to fill my list.

Example: I would be all over the Ruger Alaskan stainless 375.rug except I am nervous about the round on deer and availability.

( I hunt moose, bear and deer. also elk and other big are not out of the question in the future.

Sauer 202 is not CRF. Although Sauer 202 Hardwood or Forest are what I think OP would love based on "CZ Kevlar" pre

Yet, unreasonable amount of cash and wait time. Different ballgame compared to CZ. Or say Merkel:

"Cheaper" euro option Anschutz

Anyway, all the above are just for gun####. Now real choices available at fine retailers near you

Ruger Gunsite Scout, only comes in 308, but short:

What is the budget and how important are the factory irons for you?

unreasonable price? what else is there you can even compare to it for less...........

I took my cz 550 30-06 full stock and whacked a fair bit of the forearm off with a crosscut saw last year after falling on it one too many times on a goat hunt. Now its a perfect carbine especially loaded with 200 grain partitions.
If a fella put a fullstock barreled action in a mcmillan he'd have just what your lookin for, Ive got one too many 06's now so if your serious PM me as I could be talked out of it.

If you like the Ruger Alaskan then I would go for it. I've shot deer with a .375 before and the lower velocities of the heavy bullets means less bloodshot meat in my experience. The recoil wasn't for me though.

I am looking around the 1000$ price range. +\- . irons are a must for me. CZ have a very nice set of irons.
Thanks for all the other ideas guys. Still torn on the 375 ruger.
