Casey at Tac Ord was able to beat mine off without damaging it.

I GOT IT OFF!! Thank you all so much. Namely Skullboy's sticky and GG&FB's post. I would have never know where to drill.

Can I re-use the FH even though it's been drilled? I'm not one for aesthetics. If it works safely I'll shoot with it.
There was no tearing that I can see with a magnifying glass.

Hey, if it goes back on tight....with the castle nut, then use it.

Most people just don't like the look after the job is done, IE all the shiney, peened metal showing.

I wan't my first one off just so I could put one on there with a bayonet lug......for some reason the M14's just look 1000% better with the lug.

I patched up the drill holes on one of mine with JB Weld, and then painted/gun-koted it.You'd never kow it was drilled........

If you've ever stood in Casey's presence, you'd know how unlikely that is. Sure, I'm easy, but Casey.............................

I'd much rather beat it off than drill it, especially filling the hole with JB weld and then painting it!

Some people want to re-use it.Unlike the USGI FHs, the Norc ones are already reamed to match specs, so some just stick with the stock FH.

Beating the flash hider support group...hehe. I'm going down that road one day soon. Anyone here knows of someone locally(Canada) selling those shim kits?

Don't laugh... you'll need the support

I was told a member had good kits for a fair price, goes by mysticplayer. He was all out when I PM'd him and so I couldn't wait and ordered a set from Smith Enterprises (along with their m14 mount :D)
15 USD for the shim kit. God only knows what it'll come to with duty and all that ####e.

It came off without a mark on it and is totally re-usable as I used a block of delrin. Maybe I was lucky that it came off that way.

My first M305 was like that, however others needed to be drilled. There is no consistentsy to the Norc welds.........
