Hey fellas,

I'm tired of waiting for my recievers so I'm starting this thread to show what my plans are for my SLR build and hear what others have on the go.

Here's my breakdown and I'll update here if I forgot anything;

Barrel- JP Enterprises 22" Stainless Supermatch 6.5 Grendel
Gas block- JP Adjustable
Muzzle Brake- JP Large Profile Comp
Bolt- JP FMOS
Handguard- JP MK iii 15"
Buffer tube- PWS Mod 2 Enhanced
Buffer assembly- JP captured system
Buttstock- Magpul Slimline
LPK- Stag w/magpul enhanced poly trigger guard
Safety- B.A.D Ambi Safety
Trigger- Geissele SSP
Grip- Hogue
Mag catch- Norgon Ambi
Bolt catch- Geissele Maritime
Charging handle- Geissele Super Charging Handle

To start out I bought 3 ASC 5 round mags and 3 10 rounders as well as some Hornady Black 123 gr ELD match and Federal Fusion 120 gr MSR.

I'm still deciding on what optic to put on this but I plan to shoot long distance with it as well as hunting.

Cheers

Update- I decided on a Nightforce ATACR 4-16x42 Tremor3 and I'm mounting it in NF rings with the built in bubble level.

It arrived today and as my first Nightforce I'm impressed with the quality and feel of the optic.

Bad ass set up. Looking forward to seeing other people’s builds as well.

I’ll post mine when I get to a computer

Looks like a very nice build!! Are you going to be able to mount the scope in rings with both mounted on the upper and still have proper eye relief? 95% of the time you need a Cantilever scope mount on a AR-15 sized rifle.

I've slapped it on one of my AR's and the slimline stock. It's a little lower than I'm used to but the eye relief is fine for me with the front ring mounted on the last slot on my upper.

Haven’t ordered the receiver set yet but my plan is to get a Windham Weaponry 20” Government Rifle and put it in the SLR. Swap the furniture for OD green and put in a Geissele SSA-E trigger.

Update- my brake showed up today from A Z T E C H

I was pleasantly surprised with the finish and the way it mates with the barrel.

Wow.....thats one hell of a Grendel setup.

I want to go that route with mine as well. Preferably with a 18.6" barrel.

It's here!

Standby for updates. Letting the loctite set on the jp barrel nut and building the lower today.

Super exciting to see guys getting their receiver sets! I'm nothing but jealous, however, seeing the deliveries slowly make their way closer to the Atlantic :p

Got it mocked up while the barrel nut sets with loctite.

As far as quality, it seems great with the hanger marks that were mentioned but they are inside on mine so can't be seen when assembled.

All the roll pin holes are tight but so far so good. I'm just looking at my bolt catch clearance before driving that pin home.

Barrel nut with loctite? Does MC Def specify this? I mean, I know this isnt an AR, however an AR should NOT have loctite on the barrel nut. Anti seize mil spec grease only
