I just wanted to post my initial impressions of my Canuck Evolve Traditions 357 with a 13" barrel.
I bought it really on an impulse because I love compact guns and really liked the aesthetics of the traditions 13", I love 357 as a cartridge, and revolvers are of course fun!
In classic fashion I started my research post purchase
and found complaints of similar revolving shotguns/rifles having issues with gas and particles being blown into the left forearm and face of the shooter.
Fast forward to the shooting range and I am glad to report mine had no such issues at all and I was pleasantly surprised. The cartridges eject well, no stickiness in the chambers of the cylinder. The single action is very light making accurate shots easy. Double action is pretty heavy, but works as it should. You can get 5 shots off quick and if we get speedloaders from Canuck, reloading will be very fast.
The rifle is very lightweight and with the qd cup in the stock (wish there was one in the forend too it just has mlok slots) it will carry well on the chest for wilderness defense duty or hunting.
I havent tested accuracy yet, however I can easily hit my ipsc gong at 100 yards.
The sights were not on from factory and my main quip which isnt s huge deal is that the tension screws on the front and rear sight are right next to the barrel in line with the barrel so you have to use an actual allen key to adjust them. I had my leatherman and managed to loosen one but couldnt toghten it so gotta do it at home.
Like most short barreled carbines, this one shoots high, maybe 4-6" which is ok for me. The sights are a crappy fiber optic but get the job done. There is also a pic rail for an optic.
Overall I really like the rifle. Its way overpriced for what it is but we all know how crappy everything is here in Canada so I guess 1200 bucks is the new 500 bucks.?
But, I have to say I had a lot of fun shooting it today!
