Hi
I'm looking at both of these Shotguns as a general purpose, waterfowl, turkey shotgun in 12G.
I know they are very different in that one is Inertia and one is gas. I already own a few higher quality Gas and Inertia Shotguns. This is a gift for my son for completing his hunter course.
Can anyone give me their experiences with either firearm. They both are similarly priced and seem to be a lot of gun for the money.

Thanks

I'll vote for the 940 Pro, since I have a 940 Pro Tactical - it's soft shooting and just works. However, I'm a lefty and a sucker for any tang safety ;)

Ditto and, uses Invector Plus Chokes - I have several so already convenient and less costly for External Chokes ...
I own an SX-3, as does a hunting partner, and we have several people using SX-3s and SX-4s at skeet. They are extremely reliable, and they function well with pretty much any target load, or hunting load. They are my choice for an affordable semi auto.

For the 2 you mention I'd go mossberg but the canuck will have the better warranty support if that's a concern to you
Gas guns generally operate better over a wider range of ammo and if hunting you need to take a shot at a stupid angle after your lower half gets numb from sitting on your butt a gas gun will cycle

The Canuck is a Turk made gun, is it not? Do they even have spare parts or warranty for those things? I'm genuinely asking, as I've never had to have warranty work done on a gun.
Most Turkish guns are 50/50. They'll run fine OR they'll disassemble themselves in short order. Depends on which factory made em.

^well that's why I was going to chime-in and say "Mossberg"-for that reason alone. I have more experience with foreign-made machines than guns, and what's not always obvious is that a certain item can be made in multiple locations with multiple variables=and still look the same/carry the same brand name. Why two nearly identical machines might not have interchangeable parts.

So, my work experience applies to my gun decisions where econo-Turkish goods are part of it. Your "win" is the purchase price, anything beyond that could be a roll of the dice. Pre-Trudeau, I might have relied on parts/goods availability always being a safe bet even with a Turkish gun. Now, we all have to rethink what the future might hold with all makes/models. Assuming we will all be able to get/use hunting guns until the end of time=go Mossberg
