Hey CGN,

I am in the market for an O/U 20g shotgun...I do NOT have the money for anything Italian or British.

New these cost $850 all in...I am able to get mine for $695 new all in, that price helps.

Anyone with any long term or high round count on one of these?

I shoot all my guns a lot, I do not baby them, I use them hard...but not any deliberate abuse or neglect. It would be used for trap in the summer and small game all fall/winter as well as a general range gun and for my son to learn on...this will easily see 1,200+ rounds a year.

I believe these come with a 3 year warranty and the Canuck HQ is within 2 or so hours from me.

Anything else you have to share would be great!

Thanks!

At 1200 rounds a year I would search the EE for a used Citori; but I get it, even a used Citori is twice the price you'll pay for the Turk.

Some guys love them and have lots of luck with them. The ones I see get consistent use at the Trap and Skeet club all seems to break eventually.

The canuck likely wont hold up much passed the warrenty if it makes it that far without it. The better gun for the money is a huglu. Slightly more money but still cheaper than a used beretta or browning.
Skb. Charles daly and winchester 101 can be found on the used market. 20ga brings a premium but fixed chokes in older guns cuts the price back

Your money. You may get a good one and canuck has great service but it is built to a very low price point

From what I have seen on the ranges with them it's very hit and miss. Some seem to go for a good run w/o issues and others barely make it past day 1 before going back for warranty repair or replacement. I know one fellow who has replaced three in approximately 5000 rounds and another who has about 4 flats through one he bought last year that hasn't skipped a beat...yet. Another fellow I know has a turkish made savage o/u in 410 and at about 5000 rounds needed firing pins and could not get any. He had to have a machine shop make them. I have seen more broken turkish guns on the line than those that weren't. Unfortunately in your budget range a good older used Winchester 101 is even two to three times the price owing to the value of them in the sub-gauges. In a 12ga you could easily find one in your budget and have every bit as good of a gun as any B gun for a lot less $....

Thanks for all the valuable feedback...looks like I am gonna look into something else...I'd like a gun to be able to do what it was made for, SHOOT, and not worry about it dying within a few $100 worth of ammo.
