Canuck Pump Action Shotguns, got one?

I have been eyeing these for a while.. I was torn about the new tac 14" Remingtons but at $650 its not cheap.

Are the Canucks and Churchill's the same brand? Is there a difference between the two other than some of the styles and price?

Is it worth spending double on a new Remington?

Yes , it is , but you could get an old Wingmaster and you'd be much better off.

The design is very good, but I wouldn't trust my life to a 300$ shotgun... Think of this, half of that money went to the walnut furniture and the chokes, doesn't leave much budget for quality

$300 buys a house by the lake in Turkey though.

I have a plastic one, with the shockwave grip it is easier to shoot than I thought. I haven't had any problems with it. It is surprisingly light and handy, it would work well as a niche defensive shotgun if you needed such a thing.

So... what was that issue?

The 9th shot the action jammed so tight halfway out of battery that it couldnt be forced open or closed. It was sent in for warrenty and repaired in 2.5 week turn around or so. I dont use it much. Ive likely only put 7 or 800 rounds thru it. With a primos tite wad turkey choke it patterns extremely well at 40 yards

If you're looking for a Canuck pump action replacement stock, the Canuck branded Tactical stock is surprisingly very good! I just received mine in the mail from Bullseye London. It has an adjustable cheek riser with nice controls, two shell holders (nice and snug, but will test with 00 magnum buck later to see if they hold well) and a spacer to extend LOP. Overall, it has transformed my pretty unmanageable birdshead grip set-up (good for my rucksack) to a very pointable, comfortable and practical gun. Only $35, made in Turkey, not China. I also purchased an RX Arms sling plate and handstop (a must for short barrels), which fits perfectly and is nicely finished! It also makes for a handy gun stand! I will post pics of the transformation later. I am just waiting on my 11mm dovetail to Picatinny/ Weaver adaptor which I picked-up from a non-site sponsor for cheap.

One last thing, I was cleaning both my Canuck and Mossberg 500 ATI Tactical (best shotty I have ever owned, and I have owned MANY), and aside from the Canuck being just as well built, it is by far and away MUCH easier to strip and clean. It's like the AK47 of the shotgun world. Just unscrew the mag cap, barrel and pump assembly falls out. The pump assembly amounts to three (3) parts: the bolt carrier/rails (milled!), bolt assembly and forend grip. I bet I can disassemble and reassemble in 10 seconds. Loving this gun more and more every day.

Let us know how that rail holds up under the 12 gauge recoil. I had a friend do the same thing to his aluminum framed Turkish shotgun with a dovetail and the recoil ripped the aluminum dovetail apart.

I severely doubt it, as I've had similar set-ups. I wonder if your friend property fastened it? 4 bolts and a recoil pin with this unit. Not all brands are created equal.

Just put on my Past field recoil shield and have a box of 50 Challenger slugs... will tell you how she holds up in a few hours.

Picked up a Canuck Commander for my first shotgun but it's probably going to be at least a month till I can shoot it. Looking forward to it!
