Did Enfield valises come in different lengths? I just got one that is about 4" shorter than the other one I have. It won't even fit a #4 or a Garand. Fits my #5 nicely though. It doesn't appear to be modified, and it has a stamp with a mfg name (something & something- can't read it) plus a broad arrow and 1941. Can't be made for a #5 that early.

I believe that they do shrink.
Though yours may have been shortened in length?
I have one that has been altered to fit a No4T. It has a piece added to cover the scope and a 6" cut off toe has been added to the muzzle...
