CAR-15 Accuracy?????

Anyone out there getting raggedy single hole 100 yard groups out of their shorty 10.5 inch pipes on a CAR -15 ?--- If so , care to share your recipes??

The AR platform is designed for combat. If you're producing phenomenal groups with yours than good for you. Don't expect it and don't be disappointed if it doesn't produce such groups.

Best group I ever got out of my 11.5" AR15 was 2-7/8" for 5 shots with an ATN heads up sight at 102 yards. That was not benched, just elbows on the table. If I had used a front support bag or a bipod I am sure it could have been a bit smaller. Other groups varied from 3-4" so it was pretty consistent. Was using 55 grain UMC factory ammo and an Armalite 1/9" twist barrel.

a carbine is designed for close combat, for that matter any m16 or battle rifle. you no, worst case spray and pray. a full c7 you only needed a 6" group at 200m. to pass your tri annual qualification. in reality your enemy will be under 75m and moving very quick. flash and gone.
