Carbine

Depends on what part of the world you originate from ??
In Britain people traditionally pronounce 'Lieutenant' as 'Left-tenant' rather than the American or French 'Loo-tenant'.
Kamlooky, where are you and how does one pronounce carbean ;)

Hi Gents. It may be of interest to no one but I that the first British carbines of the 1750's were only a bit shorter but the bore diameter was
significantly smaller. Its kar-byne pronunciation in my part of the world (the best part). Pity those that talk like hillbillies. JOHN

Z/28 Camaro Sports Car

Zee 28 - USA pronunciation

Zed 28 - Canadian pronunciation

In Canada we don’t call a Zebra a Zed-bra! So the American way of saying
it is more correct without the British Canadian French way of really screwing things up!

Incline, recline, combine - carbine.

Now, how about " sabot " ?

You are implying that is an "english" word - is a "french" word, adopted by english speakers too stupid to come up with own word for it - so pronounce as an English speaking hill billy (sa-but) or someone a bit more "worldly" - "say-bo"
