Carbon Fiber barrels?

Not really, it's Ok for range shooting, but would be a bit heavy for a hunt. I tryed 60 rnds of factory and 75 hand loads .Nosler and hornady. Best I got was a 1 inch rnd group. With the Nosler 180 g. That was stock rem700 20 inch HB . I just installed a Cadex strike field . Thinking a CFB would be better for a hunting trip and maybe improve on accuracy. I've got a 100 test loads done up with some different powder.ill give it another try this weekend.

Ummm, the #4 contour is also called a magnum or heavy sporter. It is a lighter contour then the Rem Sendero so it most certainly would work in a hunting rifle.

My PRS rifle should be around 9lbs all up .... waiting for some time to put into a lighter lam stock. So nothing overweight here.

Getting 1" with a factory Rem barrel is pretty typical as it would be with many factory barrels... no surprise here. Consider trying the 178gr Amax as throats on Rem 308 chambers can be very long.

I hope you will try the CF barrel.... might just be the answer you are looking for.

Enjoy

It was 180 g Nosler projectile and CFE 223. The factory Nosler and Hornady were about 1 1/2 Moa. I'm trying the next batch with Varget.
